A Blog Post from Tadayuki's Family

We wanted Tadayuki to learn about family life here in the UK, so on the Saturday morning before the battle re-enactment, we took him to meet our parents. 

First stop was Doug's parents home for a cup of tea in the garden. We also fed the fish (trout and grayling) as the River Kennet happens to run along the bottom of their garden. Then it was over to their allotment to show Tadayuki how we grow our fruit and vegetables.

Next stop was Amy's parents home for cake in their garden. Tadayuki really enjoyed the lemon cake and ginger beer. This evening Tadayuki came home with several bags of bands for loom bands, asking if we knew how to make them - we did not!

But after a quick shout out to another home stay family, a Google search and a YouTube instructional video we were well on our way.

We spent the evening creating loom bands, watching the Commonwealth Games with home made pizza and ginger beer (Tadayuki's new favourite drink).
